NEXUS Launches: A New Career-Start Program for the Lithuanian Diaspora

What Does “NEXUS” Mean for Lithuania?

Since 2018, the Bring Together Lithuania program has been bringing the most promising young members of the Lithuanian diaspora back to Lithuania. This year, for the ninth time, the initiative will once again welcome participants to a six-week summer program designed for young Lithuanians who want not only to visit the country, but to experience firsthand what it means to work, create, and belong to a professional community in Lithuania.

Over the years, the program’s organizers have received many inspiring letters from participants - letters that increasingly asked bold and meaningful questions: “Can we stay longer?” “Are there opportunities to continue our internships in Lithuania?” These questions grew beyond personal reflections and became part of a broader public conversation about diaspora return, talent attraction, and Lithuania’s future. As more and more Lithuanians choose to come back home each year, the organizers faced a fundamental question: What can we, as a country and as a program, offer highly qualified young Lithuanians?

After several years of reflection and discussion, the Bring Together Lithuania team reached a clear conclusion: it was time to expand. Time to take a step forward and offer a solution for those who want not just a short-term professional experience in Lithuania, but the opportunity to begin or continue their careers here.

Starting in 2026, a new program - “Nexus. Powered by BTLT” - will launch for young diaspora professionals. The program will offer participants the opportunity to live and work in Lithuania for one year, deepen their professional skills, build meaningful connections, and become an active part of the country’s economic and social life.

Nexus is a bridge between the world and Lithuania - connecting talent, ideas, and future opportunities. Designed for young, highly educated diaspora professionals seeking to establish themselves in the Lithuanian labor market, the program goes beyond job placement. Nexus provides comprehensive support throughout the integration process, from administrative matters to cultural adaptation. At its core, Nexus is a community - one that helps young professionals build Lithuania while building their own lives in Lithuania.

One of the program’s greatest strengths is its focused and consistent work with a clearly defined target group: Lithuanian youth living abroad. The Bring Together Lithuania team is among the few in the country working systematically and intensively with this audience - helping them discover professional opportunities in Lithuania, integrate successfully into the labor market, and become active members of society. Above all, the program emphasizes holistic integration from day one.
