Participants of Bring Together Lithuania 2026 met with members of the Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania

Participants of the “Bring Together Lithuania” diaspora youth internship program and representatives of the Kazickas Family Foundation visited the Parliament (Seimas) of the Republic of Lithuania. During the visit, the program participants were received by Dalia Asanavičiūtė-Gružauskienė, a member of the Seimas elected from the Lithuanian World Community constituency, and meetings were also held with Seimas members - former Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania (2020–2024) Ingrida Šimonytė, former Minister of National Defense Laurynas Kasčiūnas, and Žygimantas Pavilionis, who served as Lithuania’s ambassador to the United States and Mexico (2010–2015). The young people had the opportunity to gain a closer understanding of current issues in Lithuanian political life, the work of Parliament, and matters crucial to the future of the state.
The highlight of the visit was a meeting and discussion with politicians, during which they discussed issues related to Lithuania’s geopolitics and national security, prospects for economic growth, the role of the global Lithuanian community, and current developments in international relations. Program participants actively engaged in the conversation and boldly raised questions about Lithuania’s preparedness for crises, the strengthening of defense capabilities, cybersecurity, and the diaspora’s contribution to shaping Lithuania’s future. The open dialogue provided an opportunity for young Lithuanians around the world better to understand the country’s current challenges and priorities.
“Lithuanians around the world are our treasure, our nation’s treasure. And all those people for whom Lithuania is important and dear are needed by our nation,” said Member of Parliament Laurynas Kasčiūnas, sharing his thoughts on the importance of the “Bring Together Lithuania” program for Lithuania.
“There are over a million Lithuanians living all over the world, which is why, as a small country, every single one of them is important to us. Everyone living abroad is important because they spread the word about Lithuania and are true ambassadors for the country,” said Member of Parliament Dalia Asanavičiūtė-Gružauskienė after meeting with participants of “Bring Together Lithuania” 2026.
Young Lithuanians from around the world also took part in a guided tour of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, led by Elena Narkevičiūtė, an advisor to a member of the Seimas. During the tour, the program participants visited the March 11 Act Hall, the Press Conference Hall, the Hall of His Excellency Algirdas Mykolas Brazauskas, President of the Republic of Lithuania, and the Constitution Hall, where they learned more about the functions and history of the Seimas.
Since the Seimas is currently in its spring session, participants had the opportunity to watch a live session in the plenary hall, where the most pressing national priorities were discussed and ministers answered questions from members of parliament during Question Time. Additionally, during the tour, in the Corridor of the Defenders of Freedom of January 13 and the Hall of the Act of March 11, discussions focused on the importance of the struggle for freedom, the history of the defenders of freedom, and the restoration of the independence of the Republic of Lithuania.
The program organizers would like to thank Member of Parliament Dalia Asanavičiūtė-Gružauskienė for hosting the visit at the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania. These visits greatly enrich the program’s content, strengthen the civic engagement of young people in the diaspora, deepen their understanding of Lithuania’s current situation and growth, and, of course, encourage young Lithuanians abroad to devote more attention to strengthening the nation.
